Q: How do you get the correct diamond granite cutting segment?
Give us with more information as details as you can about your stone info, machine info and cutting parameters.
1. Diamond blade for sawing, slicing, splitting or any other application.
2. Stone info, such as name, hardness, abrasiveness and grain size, pictures or samples.
3. Machine info, main motor, spindle speed, feed rate and cutting depth.
4. The thickness of the blank blade, to make sure the correct size of the diamond segments.
5. Blade life requirement, general requirements for cutting square meters per blade, cutting speed requirement and so on.
How do we choose the metal bonds and sintering craft?
1. Selection of binder phase
The performance of the saw blade does not only depend solely on the diamond crystals, but also on the overall performance of the composite material that is the proper combination of diamond and metal bonds. For soft stone materials such as marble, the mechanical properties of marble cutting segments are required to be relatively low, and copper-based bonds can be used.
However, the sintering temperature of the copper-based bonds is low, the strength and hardness are low, the toughness is high, and the bonding strength with diamond is low. When tungsten carbide (WC) is added, WC or W2C is used as the skeleton metal, with an appropriate amount of cobalt to improve the strength, hardness and bonding characteristics, and a small amount of Cu, Sn, Zn and other metals with low melting point and low hardness are added for bonding mutually. The particle size of the main ingredients should be finer than 200 mesh, and the particle size of the added ingredients should be finer than 300 mesh.
2. Selection of sintering process
As the temperature increases, the degree of densification of the carcass increases, and the flexural strength also increases, and with the extension of the holding time, the flexural strength of the blank carcass and diamond agglomerates first increases and then decreases. Sintering at 800°C for 120s can meet performance requirements.
